National Trails Day, June 2005
To celebrate National Trails Day, 25 trail enthusiasts and supporters
hiked the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail, from Algonkian Park
to Riverbend Park, about 12 miles. Much of this trail was newly built
by volunteers from FTAS and other groups (Potomac Heritage Trail Association,
PATC, Great Falls Trailblazers, etc), with help from Fairfax County Park
Authority and Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority. The final link is a
bridge over Sugarland Run, expected to be finished by NVRPA in early
2006 (you must wade across until then).

See what else FTAS has been up to!
