in 2003

On National Trails Day, hiked Occoquan to Accotink
and Algonkian to Riverbend, completing the Ultimate Cross County
Hike (Prince William to Loudoun on the Fairfax Cross County
Trail).

FCPA, scouted a route through Lorton which will be used to finish
the Ultimate Cross County Hike, begun in 2002.

With
FCPA, sponsored 2nd Annual Cross-County Trail Caucus with 100
participants.

With
MORE and Hunters Valley Riding Club, reroute 1/2 mile of CCT
south of Vale Road.

Spring
annual Pimmit Run litter cleanup.

President
Bill Niedringhaus awarded citation for Citizen of the Year,
by the Washington Post and the Fairfax County Federation of
Citizens Associations.

Cross-County Hike," over 3 days during National Trails
Weekend.

Fairfax County Park Authority, sponsored 1st Annual Cross-County
Trail Caucus with 80 participants.

MORE and Great Falls Trailblazers, rerouted a section of the
CCT near Colvin Run Mill.

With MORE, helped reroute 1/2 mile of CCT
at Oak Mar Recreation Center.

and Fall Annual Pimmit Run Cleanups.

Won $3000 grant from McLean Citizens Foundation to design
a large-scale historic map of Pimmit Run.

Won $3000 grant from the Fairfax History Commission to print
the map.

Received
the 2001 Potomac Heritage Partnership Award from Potomac Heritage
Partnership.

Erected 5 Fairfax Trails and Streams Adopt-A-Stream signs
along Pimmit Run.

With MORE, rerouted a section of the Cross-County Trail along
Pohick Creek.

Annual spring litter cleanup on Pimmit Run.

Joined
the Fairfax County Park Authority and representatives from
other trail advocacy groups to form the Cross-County Planning
Team.

Obtained offer from developer to build a major section of
Pimmit Trail at $20,000 under cost.

Led the first Fairfax Cross County Hike, 34 miles, in June
(National Trails Day), attended by half the members of the
Fairfax Board of Supervisors, the Mayor of Fairfax City, the
Chairman of the Fairfax Co. Park Auth. Board, and other local
officials.
